Friendly and Professional
I'm a long time member of www.broadbandreports.com.. a respected member of BBR posted a review of your program Find & Run Robot. I decided to check it out and found your website incredibly easy to navigate, lots of helpful people, not to mention the wonderful software you've created. I don't join a lot of websites. I stay with the few I know will be helpful and educational for me. I decided to donate what I had in my paypal account because I thought, 1 You make great software and, 2 Your forum seems really friendly and professional at the same time. I will help spread the word on BBR, where I spend most of my time. Thank you for making such an informative and useful site.

Flash Game of the Week: Zombie Cats

Screenshot - 4_22_2011 , 7_36_52 AM_thumb.png
Tons of style and humour in this light click adventure.  Has a nice balance of time sensitive and time-insensitive levels, and great artwork.

Apple - not quite grasping the concept of privacy.

Does it matter, well, I suppose so. Am I surprised, not really, who would be these days...

http://www.guardian....rompts-privacy-fears

It's a (Guardian) article about how mobile Apple devices are tracking and keeping records of your locations over several months. That's nice of them not to bother to ask first.

Kickstarter and Indie2GoGo Projects Spotlight - April 18, 2011

Another week, and a few more interesting projects for your consideration...

H.P. Lovecraft's Wonderland
Wonderland.png
Goal$2500
End Date2011-05-11
Project Creator(s)Rick Hershey
LocationMyrtle Beach, SC
DescriptionRick Hershey and Nikola Jajic announce their collaboration on the original graphic novel, H.P. Lovecraft’s Wonderland. The graphic novel tells the familiar tale of Alice’s adventure in Wonderland as if the story was written by cult horror writer H.P. Lovecraft ( At the Mountains of Madness, Call of Cthulhu, The Dunwich Horror).

This is the third collaboration between writer Nikola Jajic and artist Rick Hershey on a graphic novel, their last being the title Loosely Based published by Arcana Comics. Where Nikola provided the story and Rick handled pencils and inks. For H.P. Lovecraft’s Wonderland, Nikola Jajic returns to write the script as Rick Hershey picks up the duties of linework, colors, and lettering.

Both Nikola Jajic and Rick Hershey are working professionals. By pledging money to the H.P. Lovecraft's Wonderland graphic novel you will be buying the time needed to produce this awesome project to the level of detail and commitment needed. . . and it will be beautiful.

Terminator The Second
Terminator.png
Goal$3000
End Date2011-05-01
Project Creator(s)Husky Jackal Theatre
LocationNashville, TN
DescriptionIs this what it sounds like?

If it sounds like the story of a boy and his cyborg protector on the run from a soulless, shape-shifting assassin made of liquid metal, adapted for stage and told exclusively in the words of William Shakespeare, then yes.

How can you claim that this production is “presented” by William Shakespeare?

We adhered to strict guidelines regarding the usage of Shakespeare’s works. Each line and phrase is taken directly from folios printed by or before 1685, and many extended sections of dialogue are composed of individual lines from separate works. Only proper nouns and pronouns were subject to change, as dictated by the plot. In these instances, all proper nouns are supplanted only by pronouns or other proper nouns, and all pronouns by other pronouns. In some cases, corresponding verb tenses are modified. These practices enabled us to accurately retell the story of Terminator 2: Judgment Day while remaining true to the words of Shakespeare in form (if less so in intent).

Coffee Joulies
Joulies-Web.jpg
Goal$9500
End Date2011-05-02
Project Creator(s)Dave & Dave
LocationSan Francisco, CA
DescriptionCoffee Joulies work with your coffee to achieve two goals. First, they absorb extra thermal energy in your coffee when it’s served too hot, cooling it down to a drinkable temperature three times faster than normal. Next, they release that stored energy back into your coffee keeping it in the right temperature range twice as long.

Good blog for (game) software developers to follow

Screenshot - 4_15_2011 , 8_47_46 AM_thumb.png
Quite recently, discovered this very interesting blog from developers to developers, called Alt Dev Blog a Day. A lot of pretty interesting posts daily and very good hints etc for all levels of coders. Most of the topics are close to game developers but it serves nicely all who need some inspiration for their daily development process.

(and yes, I follow it via rss feed, just like most of the interesting sites all over the internet).

Edit: As a bonus, got another one for you to follow: Cbloom rants. Hope you all find these useful.

The Universe Within - very cool flash image zooms from galaxy to atoms

Screenshot - 4_14_2011 , 11_45_20 AM_thumb.png
I found a new, more comprehensive and "slick" version recently which blew my mind yet again: http://primaxstudio....f/scale_of_universe/
What's particularly interesting about this one is that it includes some additional info (speculative, but still scientific and interesting) on both ends of the spectrum, large and small. It also includes lots of great examples at every level of scale.
