Lost in Geek Cyberspace
After joining I was reading through some of the site, actually most all of it. I was lost in computer geek cyberspace for about 4.5 hours. Time well spent.. When I saw the way you laid out your membership system I was instantly gratified.. Thank you for setting a good example and I hope that many will follow. You're in my daily favorites now and will be for a long time to come.

Live Documents - Web enabling Microsoft Office

Screenshot - 9_9_2006 , 3_58_13 PM_thumb.png
You create documents using Microsoft Word and Excel and share them with others using e-mail. That is the easy part... How many times have you suffered on working on shared documents after you have sent them out - worrying about document versions, revisions and follow-ups such as reviews and approvals? Also, do you have any way of tracking who is accessing your document today and what they are doing with it?.
...
With Live Documents, the tools that you use to create and consume documents are now the tools that you can use to share and collaborate on the same documents.

Q&A: How to turn F lock on the keyboard ON by default?

blog clipart
I have a Microsoft keyboard which has a 'F lock' (Function lock) which is OFF by default when the computer is turned on. Unless that key is turned ON, pressing function keys like say F5 doesn't work.

It's not a problem as such, but a minor annoyance. Is it possible to have this key turned ON by default upon system start?

If you have Logitech Keyboard you may suffer from this problem..

STICKMAN SAM 4: Fantastically Good Flash Platform Game

mycaps Screenshot - 003 , 03_02_AM , Sep 09 2006_thumb.png
This is the best "stickman" style game i've played and it controls like a dream and feels like it's going to be a really rich and satisfying game, with some real character.  Damn these flash coders are really making some nice games..  The cutscreens have great humour too.  The screenshot does not do this game justice.

Note: this is only for people who like platform games with serious control schemes.  You will have to use the tutorial modes to learn the controls.

2. Week Two Assignment: Learn the Getting Things Done (GTD) System
David Allen's Book "Getting Things Done, The Art of Stress-Free Productivity" (2001), has developed something of a cult status among time management and efficiency fanatics.

Your assignment for Week Two of the experiment is as follows:
  • Learn the Getting Things Done (GTD) System.
  • Experiment with GTD.
  • Decide which aspects of it seem useful to you.
  • Think about which aspects of GTD do not suit you well.
  • Think about what's missing from GTD that you still need.

NOTE: Anyone is welcome to join this experiment if they are willing to make a commitment to improving their productivity and taking this objective seriously.

If you find the idea useful you can digg it: here.

What is Typetester?

The Typetester is an online application for comparison of the fonts for the screen. Its’ primary role is to make web designer’s life easier. As the new fonts are bundled into operating systems, the list of the common fonts will be updated.
