An Entrepreneur's Take on "The Long Tail"

Screenshot - 12_2_2006 , 10_14_44 AM_thumb.png
Yaro Starak writes an interesting blog on entrepeneurial business issues, marketing, small business stuff, etc.  Today he wrote a long piece on "The Long Tail", a very influencial article that became a book.

We've discussed the idea of the "Long Tail" before on the donationcoder.com forum, and if you are already familiar with the concept, you might not learn much new.  But if you aren't familiar with the concept, this blog is as good a place to start as any.

The Long Tail is the transition from a hit-focused marketplace to a millions of niches marketplace. While the majority of profits previously were made by selling a handful of products (the hits) to a lot of people, now millions of products are being sold to smaller amounts of people based on niches.

DelphiFeeds.com - Great Delphi/C++Builder Daily Info and Tips Site

Screenshot - 12_2_2006 , 9_31_51 AM_thumb.png
DelphiFeeds.com is a great site for getting your daily news about delphi and delphi-related tools and software.

DelphiFeeds.com is a side project from Tobias and Dennis Gurock (our blog: software.gurock.com). This site has been developed as an internal project for the Gurock Software intranet. We decided to make it public when we noticed how useful such a site would be for the Delphi community. Although this site originated from Gurock Software, this site is purely a private project of us and is not provided by Gurock Software.

This site collects many different feeds from blogs, newsgroups and other Delphi sites. We then publish short excerpts from the postings or articles on the DelphiFeeds.com front page. The whole process is automated and we cannot review every single posting that is added to this site. We try to include quality blogs and sites only so that the signal/noise ratio should be good. If we notice that a blog mostly contains off topic postings or offensive content, we will consider removing the site in question.

Here's a cool program for using the "Getting Things Done" approach
