Paperless Home: Need document management software. Recommendations?I'd like to try implement something close to a paperless office, what I'd like to do is:
1. Scan all paper documents received at home (bank statements, letters,...) 2. Use OCR if applicable (maybe, I'm not sure whether it's a good thing to do at the moment) 3. Store the scanned document in the right format (multi-page TIFF, multi-page PDF, other?) 4. Use a clever document storage (filesystem with nice/clean directory structure, dedicated database/revision management system,...) Interesting user story: http://www.onlamp.co...ment_management.html Any comments on this? Has anyone set up a similar system? |

Another Google Hole UncoveredVulnerabilties identified in Google software! Hard to believe but true: there’s another vulnerability currently live on Google’s servers, allowing a malicious hacker to point you to a (long) Google.com URL... and then receive your cookie data, with which the hacker can access and modify your Google docs and spreadsheets, and view your email subjects & first words, your search history (if enabled) and much more... similar to the previous vulnerability. http://blog.outer-co.../2007-01-16-n24.html |

Bang Howdy - Free Strategic Multiplayer GameHere's a very cool, free multiplayer strategy game discovered on ghacks.net: I seldom come upon a great freeware game with stunning graphics, gameplayer and multiplayer action. Bang Howdy has all of that and much more featuring fast based turn based action with a twist. The excellent tutorial covers all basic game elements and describes the various game modes that are available when playing online. All players choose a number of units before the game starts who all have advantages and disadvantages against certain types of units for example. http://www.ghacks.ne...ic-multiplayer-game/ |
