It's the best screen capture program I've ever use, even though I can't donate, but it warms my heart that they said I can give anything to a local poor instead, it shows me how much kind, thoughtful humans are they.
THANKS FROM THE HEART.

mp3 Audio OUTPUT volume normalizer? Any such thing?

blog clipart
My neighbor works with thousands of mp3 audio files.  The volume control needs constant attention when he plays them one after another.  One might be low volume and the next would be blaring loud.

Is there some software solution that could automatically regulate the volume output?

He's seeking something where he doesn't have to tinker with each individual mp3 file.

When I mess with my own mp3 files, I use either the freeware called MP3Gain or the freeware MP3DirectCut to change the volume within the file itself.

Again, he's seeking something where he doesn't have to tinker with each individual mp3 file.

Any ideas or experience with this?

From the maker of Samorost... Questionaut!

questionaut.jpg
Samarost is one of our most favorite flash games.  Here's something by the same people:

Journey through strange worlds and test your knowledge of English, Maths and Science on this magical mission to recover your friend’s hat.

This isn't really a proper game, it's an instructional thing from bbc for young kids.. but it's quite beautiful.

Newsletter for March 25th - Codename "Attack of the Antivirus"

1. Newsletter Editorial

March was a busy and stressful month for DonationCoder.  On March 2nd the site was hacked by someone who actually tried to put a link to a virus up on our homepage.  The intrusion was detected within 2 hours but we decided that we would take the opportunity to rebuild a new server from scratch with tighter security.  The move took us almost a week to do, but everything is back and working smoothly now.

Low-cost Laptop cheat sheet

[via Glyn Moody]:

[Glyn Moody] has written a number of times about wannabe Asus EEE PCs, but there are now so many popping up hither and thither (a *very* good sign) that it's getting hard to keep them all straight. Happily, Laptop Magazine has put together a handy cheatsheet that saves us all the effort.

Flash Game of the Week: Sonny (RPG)

Screenshot - 3_25_2008 , 3_55_46 PM_thumb.png
Here's a very polished Flash RPG game, featured on Jayisgames.com today.

Sonny is most likely the best Flash RPG yet made. Imagine fluid battles that don't feel like a grind, complete with fluid animation and tactics that are actually interesting and fun. Now, imagine that you're a superhuman zombie. Yes, Sonny, this is it.

Go read the review on jayisgames -- it's a nice description of what makes the game special.

Cool site alert: Encyclopedia of Life (eol.org)

falcon.jpg
Imagine the Book of All Species: a single volume made up of one-page descriptions of every species known to science. On one page is the blue-footed booby. On another, the Douglas fir. Another, the oyster mushroom. If you owned the Book of All Species, you would need quite a bookshelf to hold it. Just to cover the 1.8 million known species, the book would have to be more than 300 feet long. And you’d have to be ready to expand the bookshelf strikingly, because scientists estimate there are 10 times more species waiting to be discovered.
