Remove App Button From Taskbar without Minimizing it?I am running a program say Wordpad. Is is available on the Taskbar as Wordpad Button. I want a software which removes Wordpad Button from Taskbar and puts it in the system tray.
BUT a Big Big But Here... The Wordpad should not be minimised to the System tray. I should be able to continue working on the Wordpad with its Taskbar Button Removed and icon available in the system tray. The Idea is to remove the button from the taskbar while still being able to work on the application. Similar Feature is available in Winamp. (see Image Above) A Discussion is Available at http://www.shellcity...ic.php?p=36062#36062 A Big Thanks to All the People who are Putting in their input |

Ghostbar - aka FadingTaskbar ReduxI found myself in a mood to do something different recently so I decided to try and rewrite Skrommel's excellent FadingTaskbar. I call it Ghostbar.
While similar in functionality to FadingTaskbar it is quite different in implementation. I won't go into details here, full source code is included for anyone so inclined, but the two key differences are (1) It supports Vista and (2) instead of remaining in the background it installs a DLL (in a benign non-malicious way) that performs all the work so that the main program can happily quit. The app is less user-friendly than FadingTaskbar but it was just meant to be a small project whose scope didn't extend beyond plain functionality See the readme.txt for details or ask me here. Enjoy. DoCo Reading Week June 8, 2007 - Join In!Let's try a new fun project, reading week.
Goal is to read for 1 hour a day, every day, for a week. Starting today June 8, 2007 (If 1hr is too long for you, cut it to 30 minutes). School books count, as do academic papers, etc. If it goes well we can keep extending it to more weeks. Post what book/papers you are reading here in this thread (you can edit your post to add more stuff if you read multiple papers/books within the week). I'm going to start off this week by finishing a book i'm not enjoying very much (self-indulgent and empty): The Emotion Machine by Marvin Minskey. Who wants to join me? |

Making the switch-01: My journey from Windows to Linuxurlwolf gave me a good idea to document my switch from Windows to GNU/Linux. If you decide to read this ongoing series, it was his idea from the start. I've wanted to "make the switch" since 1998 when Corel came out with its own version of Linux. That lasted about two weeks before I shelved that junk. In the meantime, I've toyed with various Linux distros, but knew I was never going to switch, so at best it was a convenient distraction. I'm no expert, so I'll be learning as this series unfolds. So if you ask me a question, I'll probably just google it, since I'm not that smart.
