Searching for a free, small, fast uninstaller replacement?Searching for a free, small, fast uninstaller replacement?
I use Safarp....it's VERY fast. I just type remove using SlickRun, and I don't have to reach for my mouse to remove a program. When Safarp loads you can start typing the letters of the program you want to remove then hit Enter to remove it. |

Wine Ratings Are For Suckers: Fun ArticleThis is a bit old, but it's from one of the blogs i read regularly and hadn't seen before.. Wine Ratings Are For Suckers "On many levels [rating wines on a numerical scale] is nonsensical," Joshua Greene, the editor and publisher of Wine & Spirits, said. He has been using the 100-point system to judge wines in his magazine for about a dozen years. http://scienceblogs...._are_for_suckers.php |

Dr.Explain Mini-ReviewDr.Explain is a help authoring program with a focus on visually describing the Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) of programs. It is an excellent tools for easily creating those “Quick Start” guides that have lots of screenshots of the program and help you learn where everything resides in a program. It is also great for detailed user manuals that document all of the features and options reachable through a program’s GUI through highly annotated screenshots. Dr.Explain’s well thought-out design and intuitive workflow means even the default configuration produces attractive user-friendly interactive documentation with a minimal amount of fuss.

World of Borecraft: The Trouble with Video GamesHere is an article about problems with computer/video games with purported educational value that I thought was interesting. See what you think. ...Any child of the 1980s and 1990s will remember Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing and Math Blaster Mystery: The Great Brain Robbery, games that promised to make skills acquisition fun. They'll also remember ditching Mavis Beacon for something with guns as soon as their parents' backs were turned. Making games educational is like dumping Velveeta on broccoli... http://editor.slate....laymode=6&workarea=3 |
