Accessing MPGP Functions from within Mirc

Top  Previous  Next

Like mircryption, all MPGP functions can be accessed from Mirc using the mouse.

Most operations are performed by right-clicking on the nickname of another user, and selecting one of the MPGP commands from the context-menu that pops up.
Tip: you can test operations by right clicking on yourself and sending something to yourself.
You can also perform some generic MPGP operations by right-clicking in any channel window or in the status window, or by selecting the MPGP submenu under the main top-level Commands Menu on the mirc toolbar.
The MPGP dlls can use up substantial system resources when running, but are only loaded when needed.  If at any time you want to force unloading of the MPGP dll, you can do so from the right-click context menu by selecting "Unload the MPGP dll from memory"  A small black arrow will be displayed in the system tray when MPGP is loaded (ps. this is the tray icon for the Yarrow Pseudo Random Number Geberator Entropy Gatherer), and will be removed when unloaded. If you unload mpgp while jobs are still coming in or going out, they will be canceled.

You can access this help file from the Mirc toolbar menu:  Help -> Help Files -> MPGP.chm

Mirc trick:

By default, mirc may not not automatically select the nick you right-click on to bring up the mpgp menu.  You can change this from within your mirc options:  Under General Options, check the box marked "Right-click in listbox selects line."
