Friendly and Professional
I'm a long time member of www.broadbandreports.com.. a respected member of BBR posted a review of your program Find & Run Robot. I decided to check it out and found your website incredibly easy to navigate, lots of helpful people, not to mention the wonderful software you've created. I don't join a lot of websites. I stay with the few I know will be helpful and educational for me. I decided to donate what I had in my paypal account because I thought, 1 You make great software and, 2 Your forum seems really friendly and professional at the same time. I will help spread the word on BBR, where I spend most of my time. Thank you for making such an informative and useful site.

Can We Trust CNET...(News Article)

screen_01142013_001.png
CNET, one of the Internet's first and most influential authorities on gadgets and tech news, watched its editorial integrity spiral out of control Monday, with staffers quitting and editors left to explain themselves in the wake of explosive new charges over its annual Consumer Electronics Show awards...

Special Edition Newsletter for Jan 11, 2013 - NANY 2013 Roundup

1. Newsletter Editorial

Greetings all.  This month we have a special edition of the DonationCoder newsletter.  Instead of our normal roundup of the best posts on the forums in the last month, this newsletter highlights the new software released during our new year NANY programming event.  In addition, DC member wraith808 has volunteered to revive our shareware discounts+giveaways section, so we have some new discounts and giveaways this month, which are listed below.

2. NANY 2013 Roundup

For the past 7 years at DonationCoder.com we have held an annual "New Apps for the New Year (N.A.N.Y.)" event where we ask the coders who hang out on the site to create some new piece of free software and share it with the world. What follows is a roundup of the entries from this year.

The NANY event is not a competition -- anyone can participate and everyone who does gets a unique mug commemorating the event.

Most of the programs this year were done for fun by the coders -- some are polished and ready for public use, while others are a little rough around the edges and were mainly done as a proof of concept.  All programs are freely available for download.

Visit here for screenshots and downloads of all entries:

Happy New Year 2013

Happy new year to all of you.

For me this site is like an extended family and it makes me so happy and grateful to know all of you strange and interesting characters.

I'm so grateful for being able to meet all of you, and grateful for all of the different and unusual personalities.. and grateful that we have continued to get along and create things and inspire each other.

I'm also excited for the coming year -- I feel like it's finally time for us to evolve a bit here and that I'm ready to put some more effort into making the site do a better job of being a constructive and productive force, and ready to ask for more help from all of you in making those changes.  I'm not sure what exactly that means but I'm excited to find out.

Intro and Overview:
I thought it might be helpful/useful to post this review, as it could potentially save people a lot of time (if they were not already using a feed-reader).
There are some discussions in the DC Forum that refer to Google Reader, and these two seem most relevant:

If you don't want to have to spend time wading through the often confusing mass or clutter on a website in order to read something of interest, then you can subscribe to posts on the website, or comments in a forum (e.g., including the DC Forum) without having to post something and requesting email notification of responses - as you normally would have to do.
To do this, you have to subscribe for yourself rather than expect the website to do it for you. For example, I have been doing this for several forums and blog sites for years, including the DC Forum.

Video rant against Windows 8

This is no doubt quite exaggerated for effect, but I can't say I really disagree with any of the points being made:

I've said it many timed before but I like to repeat it so I get credit when someone finally writes a book explaining how I was write, but the *only* rational explanation for the decisions Microsoft makes is that it has been infiltrated at the highest levels by saboteurs who are trying to cause the company to fail.
