Flash Game of the Week: Omega Tower Defense 2

Screenshot - 5_22_2008 , 6_05_32 AM_thumb.png
I love these tower defense games.  This is a pretty nice one, with smooth flowing enemies that move in different ways, and a nice clean upgrade system.  Plenty of strategy here.

What video player plays audio clearly when video is sped up?

blog clipart
I remember, years ago, watching episodes of Star Trek Next Generation on my computer. I was watching them at 2x real time. The player I was using adapted the audio so it just sounded like people were talking twice as fast instead of becoming chipmunk speak.

I have some HowTo videos, for example from ShowMeDo, that I want to watch a second, or third, or fourth time, to remind myself how something is done, but I don't want to do so at the slow pace that is necessary for a first viewing.

A preferable solution would be free or open source. Probably a plugin for something like VLC Media Player.

Anybody know of any such solution?

Mini-Review of FileBoss

fileboss1.png
Intro: FileBoss is a robust and full-featured file manager replacement for Windows.  Some of the features include: multi-pane multi-tabbed file groups allow you to browse your files in many different ways.  Advanced copy features allow you to copy files with robust error recovery so the copy does not fail because one file failed.  FileBoss includes a powerful batch renaming function,
and the ability to touch files and manipulate attributes of many files at the same time.  It has an advanced file find function that allows you to specify search definitions and save the searches in virtual folders that can automatically update when you open FileBoss again.  This is a file manager literally chock-full of tools to let you manipulate files the way that you want to.

1. Newsletter Editorial

Hello and welcome to another edition of the newsletter.  It's been three weeks since the last one, but we will be shifting back to a twice-monthly schedule very soon.   I'm going to try to introduce a new random section into the newsletter with each edition, just to keep you on your toes.  This time we lead with a special section on some cool new websites, including a sparkling new re-launch of Gizmo's Tech Support Alert newsletter.

On the software front, after a long period of dormancy, during which I was focused on earning a living, you can expect to see some substantial updates to my software programs in the coming weeks and months.  I'll be initially focused on adding features to my Find and Run Robot (FARR) plugin interface, in recognition of all the amazing work that plugin writers (especially czechboy and ecaradec on the DC forum) have been doing.  If you haven't taken a look at the program yet, now might be a good time - and feel free to make a post requesting a new plugin or feature.
