Region Capture Mode |
Top Previous Next |
Region capture mode is one of the most common and efficient ways to capture a specific area of the screen, and there are a number of features available for advanced users.
The fastest way to perform a region capture is to trigger is and then hold down the left mouse button and drag to select a region and then release the mouse button.
For more control over the region to be captures you can move the cursor to one corner of the desired region and then either press and release the left mouse button or hit the spacebar or enter key, to select the first corner. Then choose the second corner and repeat this operation.
While selecting corners you can use cursor keys to nudge the cursor position one pixel at a time (or hold the key to move faster).
Use shift+cursor keys when selecting the second corner to move the entire region. Use alt+cursor keys when selecting the second corner to move the first corner.
Hold alt while dragging 2nd corner of region to preserve aspect ratio.
Hit 'T' to toggle which corner you are moving. Hit 'C' to toggle and place the mouse cursor at the current location. Hit 'Z' to toggle the display of the zoom panel for accurate pixel positioning. Hit 'U' to update the screen (useful if you are trying to do a region capture of something actively changing, like a video). Hit 'escape' to cancel the current selection and go back to previous step (or cancel the capture).
Hit 'R' to toggle fixed-size region mode which lets you move the current sized region around the screen without changing the size of the region.
Hit '0' to go to fixed region mode using last capture size. Hit '1'-'9' to go to fixed region and select one of your favorite fixed sized regions (see MyFavorites options tab).
