Basic Troubleshooting

This add on will not work on versions of mirc prior to 5.9.

Mirc has an option to prevent dlls from being used, for security reasons. To use Mircryption, you need to enable dlls.  Hit alt-O for options and select the last entry, General->Lock.  If the "Disable Commands->/Dll" option is checked, uncheck it.

If you forget to enable DLL use, you will see the error "* Identifier locked in options dialog: $dll" all over the place.

If you use a black background and notice that your own typing in non-encrypted channels is invisble to you, go to the mirc color dialog (alt-k), and change "Own Text" to the color you use for your "Normal Text", probably white.  I believe this is a mirc bug.

Bots get blinded.  If you use shell bots (eggdrop, etc.) on a channel which is encrypted with mircryption, the bots will not understand encrypted traffic and will always reply in plain text.  I may add ability to modify bots to see/speak with encryption, BUT this is a huge security risk to you, since it means you will have to store the key for the channel on the bnc server.  Your best bet may be to leave the bots as is, and to talk to them by sending them non-encrypted text, which can be toggled by default using the ` character at the start of any line.
