Here are some tips and tricks for using Find and Run Robot efficiently:
• | Hit escape from the search editbox to highlight your current search string and allow you to type a new one without backspacing. |
• | Hit pause/break key to close Find and Run Robot immediately (only works if launched from tray trigger). |
• | Hit enter twice to switch from the edit box to results window and launch the top entry. |
• | Hit down arrow to move into results window, or up arrow to move back to search edit. |
• | Right-click on a found result for more options. |
• | Give an item a score <-999 to keep it from ever being shown, even if it matches and nothing else does. |
• | Use \# to specify a digit in a filename when you've got the "Digit Keys Launch Results" option checked. |
• | If you don't want Find+Run Robot to minimize to stay running and minimize to the tray when closed, pass "-standalone" as a commandline argument to a shortcut for FindAndRunRobot.exe. |
• | You can now specify multiple programs to launch within one alias by separating them with ;;; |
• | You can add \n at the end of a search string in an alias or hotkey configuration to launch the result immediately. |
• | You can launch all items in result list by hitting Ctrl+Alt+Enter. |
• | You can launch an item as an administrator by holding Ctrl+Shift as you launch it (or adding /runasadmin to the result in alias list) |
• | When specifying text to set when triggered via a hotkey, use $cliptext; where you want caret. |
