Solving Recording Problems

Top  Previous  Next

This section will just describe miscellaneous recording problems and how to solve them.

Q: When playing back a recording, the video seems to freeze in the beginning.  On timed recordings with start+end markers, the markers seem set wrong -- they are later in time than they should be.
A: I've seen this happen when the audio recording format is set to "default".  This could also be because the default audio format is too high (or too low?).  Try changing the audio format in options and see if this fixes it.
NOTE: You may also be able to solve this problem by enabled the "Perform extra preparation before engaging capture" option in Misc. Capture Options tab.

Q: FlipCap hangs on start and never shows the webcam video -- webcam light never comes on; program won't exit.
A: I've seen this happen with logitech webcam.  Terminate the FlipCap.exe process from the ctrl+alt+delete process list.  Unplug the webcam usb cable, wait a few seconds, plug it back in, wait a few seconds.  Restart FlipCap.
